Cultural Hardship Fund for Freelancers

  1. Summary

    This privacy notice relates to the Cultural Hardship Fund for Freelancers which we will refer to throughout this privacy notice as “the Fund” and explains what personal information is collected, what it is used for and who it is provided to.  The Fund will provide support to Manchester freelancers in the cultural and creative sector who have suffered from hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is a key part of the city’s economic recovery plans.

    Manchester City Council is working with HOME to provide administration support to the Fund which is managed by the Savannah Wisdom Foundation Charity with funding support from B&M Retail PLC.  

    The Savannah Wisdom Foundation will be the data controller for any personal and financial data that is provided in relation to grant applications.  

    Manchester City Council and HOME will be data processors for the Fund and will use the application information provided to undertake an assessment of eligibility for funding.  
     

  2. What is the lawful basis we are relying on?

    The Fund will collect personal and financial information for the purposes of receiving applications, evaluating those applications against an eligibility criteria, to administer the records in accordance with Charity Commission requirements and to evaluate the effectiveness of the Fund through voluntary post award evaluations.  The fund processes personal data in pursuit of the legitimate interests of the data controller under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK General Data Protection Regulation. The legitimate interest pursued by the Charity is the fulfilment of its general charitable purpose which is the prevention or relief of poverty.  The information collected will enable an assessment to be made of eligibility for the Cultural Hardship Fund for Freelancers.  

  3. Who will we share your personal information with?

    Your personal data will be shared with the Savannah Wisdom Foundation and HOME

  4. How long will we keep your information?

    We will keep personal information contained in files in line with our retention policy. If successful in your application then your personal data will be kept for 6 years after the date when you, as grant recipient, are free from all conditions relating to the grant awarded and all payment have been made.

    • the right to ask that your personal information is given to you, or another service provider of your choice, in a commonly used format
    • the right to ask us to stop using or to delete your information
