  2. Improvement details

    • Provide push-button controlled pedestrian crossings on Crescent Road either side of its junction with Greenhill Road, and across Greenhill Road itself (and existing crossing and associated lining and surfacing to be removed).
    • Install tactile paving at each crossing point.
    • Create a central ‘refuge’ for pedestrians on the crossing on Crescent Road east of the junction with Greenhill Road.
    • Build out the footway at the junction of Crescent Road and Greenhill Road to reduce crossing distance for pedestrians and remove central ‘refuge’ on Greenhill Road.
    • Provide a dedicated right turn lane for traffic turning right on Greenhill Road from Crescent Road.
    • Install ‘No waiting and no loading at any time’ double yellow lines on Crescent Road and Greenhill Road to provide protection around the junction in line with current Highways Code guidance, and to improve the safety of all users around the proposed signalised junction.
    • Add KEEP CLEAR road markings on the carriageway of Crescent Road at the entrance to the Abraham Moss campus.
    • Resurface the carriageway on all approach arms of the junction for 50m.
    • Refresh bus stop markings on the south side of Crescent Road.
    • Relocate speed limit signs on new posts.
    • Add 20mph roundel road markings on Crescent Road and Greenhill Road for traffic approaching the junction from the west.
    • Remove two trees on the western arm of the junction outside properties 94 and 111 Crescent Road to accommodate the required signal equipment.
