Manchester will honour the outstanding contribution of the nation’s armed forces with a special day of activities and entertainment for the whole family.

The covid safe celebration will take over St Peter’s Square on Saturday 26 June – from 11am until 4pm – to thank current serving members of the armed forces as well as veterans of all ages.

The Lord Mayor of Manchester will begin ceremonies at noon with the annual march past being reduced to a singular representation of each Armed Force due to covid restrictions.

The Lancashire Artillery Band perform throughout the day on stage and there will be military displays including photographs and personnel recounting their involvement. These displays will cover various campaigns and focus on the diversity of Armed Forces personnel. Military equipment will be on display along with stalls, refreshment and socially distanced seating areas.
