Schools, education and childcare New primary school for Manchester

Proposal for a new mainstream primary school

In response to significant residential growth in central Manchester, we are seeking expressions of interest from DfE approved sponsors to run a new primary school in Manchester city centre.  This is in line with the national process for establishing new schools.

This will be a new purpose built 1FE (210 place) primary school with 26 place day care setting to be located at Crown Street in central Manchester. Funding for construction of the school will include basic need and developer contributions.  The new school is proposed to open in September 2023.

We would welcome interest from multi academy trusts or interested parties with a track record of delivering the very highest standards of education.

Effective schools with high quality teaching and leadership are key to achieving the Council’s ambitious vision for the City and the trajectory of improvement across our family of schools is a positive one.  This is an opportunity to become part of Manchester's family of schools and develop a new school located in the heart of the city centre where there are significant plans for regeneration.
