Commercial - burning of waste
Businesses should not burn any commercial waste, not even cardboard. They have a legal obligation to dispose of waste in a legal manner, which does not include burning.
If you witness a fire that's dangerous, call the Fire Service immediately on 999.
In addition, the Police can prosecute anyone who allows smoke to drift across a road causing a danger to road users.
We will investigate and take formal action immediately if necessary.
