New UK Visa and Citizenship Application Services
Local Authorities, such as Manchester City Council, no longer offer the Settlement Checking Service, the Nationality Checking Service or the Nationality Document Return Service. These services have been replaced by new UK visa and Citizenship application services. The Register Office is now unable to help you with your application.
You can find information about how to apply to settle in the uk, or to apply for British Citizenship, on the Gov.uk website
New UK Visa and Citizenship Application Services:
Most applications are now completed online, and the applicant will then attend 1 of 57 new UK service centres (UK Visa and Citizenship Application Services), which are managed by a commercial partner, Sopra Steria. Applicants will need to attend an appointment to submit their biometric information; photograph and fingerprints, and their supporting evidence including proof of identity. Find out more about the new services online.
Assisted Digital Service:
UKVI have set up an Assisted Digital Support Service that is available to applicants who cannot complete an online form. Applicants are offered telephone support, or face to face support at a library or their home, to help them access and complete the online form. This service does not provide immigration advice.
