How to cash your Post Office Payout® Voucher
If you are in one of our targeted groups, and you do not pay your Council Tax by direct debit, you will receive a letter with a barcode on it. This is your Post Office Payout Voucher
Take the letter to the Post Office along with one of the following forms of ID (Letters, utility bills and statements must have been issued within the last 12 months):
- Credit card, cheque card, debit card or cash card
- Valid passport
- Valid driving license
- Bank or Building Society statement
- Utility bill (Gas, electricity, water bill)
- Letter that The Pension Service or Jobcentre Plus has sent to you (not handwritten)
- Birth, marriage, or civil partnership certificate
- Residence permit
- Payslip, P45 or P60
- Letter from a doctor, solicitor, social worker, probation officer or HM Revenue and Customs
Show the letter to one of the Post Office counter staff. They will scan the barcode, ask to see your ID, and then give you the payment in cash.
The vouchers expired on 30 September 2023 and a further instalment of payments will be sent out in November 2023. The expiry date for these vouchers will be 3 months from the date on the voucher or a specified date to be confirmed, whichever is the soonest.
