Eastlands ‘regeneration framework’ update

The Eastlands regeneration framework explains the wider approach that guides all the work going on to improve and develop this area.

We are considering an update to this framework to guide the next stage of private and public investment in the area.

This consultation asks local residents, businesses and others to comment on the update.

Summary of the update

This update helps us to:

  • respond to increasing national and international investors considering new entertainment and leisure developments, including a new large indoor arena, at the Etihad Campus
  • deal with growing demand for space from small creative and tech-businesses, from larger developments, and for new kinds of spaces for combined living and working
  • meet demand for housing as employment grows, making sure there are enough new affordable homes for residents to share in the area’s success and also the widest possible housing choice for a growing, changing population.

Consultation

Although the interest from entertainment and leisure operators – and the demand for additional workspace – will bring many benefits, we understand that new developments could have an impact on residents and the community. We would welcome your comments on the updated framework document and the impact the proposals would have on you, so we can take your views into consideration.
