Due to concerns raised around the number of road traffic collisions along the stretch of Princess Road between Barlow Moor Road and the pedestrian crossing at Darley Avenue (southbound), we have reviewed the existing layout and are proposing the following works to make the area safer:
- Installing a raised kerb area in the current chevroned section to prevent vehicles using this as a running lane, and thereby reducing the risk of potential collisions
- New traffic signals will be installed on a high mast over the traffic lanes at the pedestrian crossing near to Darley Avenue, to ensure clear visibility to all vehicles approaching the crossing
