Consultations and surveys St George's resident parking scheme consultation

How the scheme will work

If you have a vehicle that is registered to an address in the scheme’s area, you will be able to apply for a resident parking permit. Every vehicle registered at the property will need to have its own permit in order to park, and you will only be able to use a permit with the vehicle it's intended for.

The permit can be used to park anywhere within the area of the scheme - this doesn’t have to be outside your home.

If you keep your vehicle on a driveway you won't need a permit, and you can load and unload for free, as long as it’s clear that you’re not parking.

There will be a small number of parking bays that anybody can use for free, but only for up to three hours. If you have visitors that need to stay for longer you will need to apply for a visitor’s permit. If you have regular visits from a carer or medical professional they may be eligible for a free permit. If they are not eligible, you will need to apply and pay for a visitor’s permit.

What it will cost

Resident permits will be free, but visitor permits will cost £45 per year. We're not planning any future price rises, but we can't guarantee that this won't change.

If don’t need your permit anymore you’ll be able to get a refund on any full calendar months you have left on it.

Who can apply

Anybody who owns a vehicle that's registered to a property within the scheme area can apply for a permit for that vehicle. If you rent your home, you will be asked to provide proof of where you live.

You can apply for a permit for each vehicle registered at the property.

If you own a company car you can also apply, but you'll need to provide us with a letter from your workplace telling us that you keep it at home.
