Main objectives
During this consultation, we would like your input to make sure that key objectives set in 2016 are consistent with your priorities for future development of the area. We aim to shape an area that is diverse, multi-generational, sociable and sustainable for living and working.
We are proposing the following updated objectives, which reflect adopted planning policy:
- The reinstatement of the grid pattern layout, which will improve connectivity and movement through the area and draw pedestrians in.
- The creation of a mixed living and working neighbourhood, delivering both high-quality commercial space and residential development that offers a range of facilities including the provision of affordable housing will add to the vibrancy and character of the area.
- The creation of high-quality public amenity and green spaces that will be integrated with surrounding uses.
- The use of a range of building forms as well as buildings of up to 8 stories in height will create a neighbourhood that varies in height adding to the urban character of the area.
