Details of changes and streets affected

The proposed parking zone sits within an area bordered by Moss Lane East, Rusholme Place, Oxford Place, Daisy Bank Road, Hanover Crescent, Langdale Road, Scarsdale Road, Upper Kent Road, Denison Road, Schuster Road, Park Range, Aylesford Road, Dickinson Road, Platt Lane, Grove Close, Summer Place, Victory Street, Claremont Road, Upper Lloyd Street, Great Western Street and Monton Street.

Not all streets have new restrictions proposed. The further away from the district centre (Wilmslow Road) you travel, the restrictions reduce in time and the days they apply. This reflects the different demands on road space in the area.

The changes and proposed restrictions are:

  • Limited waiting bays with maximum stay 1 hour no return within 1-hour Monday to Sunday 7am to midnight are proposed on parts of the following streets:

    • Viscount Street between Walmer Street and Grelley Walk
    • Ravensdale Street
    • Claremont Road between Viscount Street and Wilmslow Road
  • Limited waiting bays with maximum stay 3 hours no return within 3 hours Monday to Sunday 7am to midnight are proposed on parts of the following streets:

  • Existing loading bays and disabled parking bays will be unaffected.
  • No waiting at any time (double yellow lines) and no loading at any time (double kerb markings) are proposed at most junctions to protect visibility for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.
  • Access highlight markings, also known as H-bars, will be provided outside private accesses where necessary.
