Proposed Alteration

Manchester City Council is proposing to make two alterations to Southern Cross School and its satellite site in Hulme as follows.

  1. Relocation from the existing main school site at Barlow Hall Road to a new site at Roundwood Road, Northenden, Manchester, M22 4AB – a direct distance of 1.8 miles.
  2. Increase the capacity of Southern Cross School to 240 places (from an existing capacity of 182)

A new purpose-built school building will be constructed at the Roundwood Road site and an expansion will be completed at the satellite site in Hulme located at Jackson Crescent, Hulme, Manchester, M15 5AL. The existing governors and senior leadership team will be responsible for both sites and the school will remain in the control of the Local Authority.
