Manchester City Council and the Far East Consortium (FEC) are proposing the next phase of development at Victoria North. This includes improving the Red Bank neighbourhood to create a sustainable, connected place to live with more green spaces along the River Irk Valley. 

The proposal is for: 

  • Up to 5,500 new homes. 
  • New community facilities. 
  • 5 hectares of new or improved green space. 
  • New walking and cycling routes. 
  • Improvements to the River Irk, including flood prevention measures. 
  • Sustainable development for a low carbon neighbourhood.

Consultation timeline 

The planning proposal will be done in stages from October 2021 until mid-2022.
