People and communities Preparing for Emergencies

Emergency planning arrangements

The Civil Contingencies and Resilience Unit, which is an Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA) service conducts 'emergency planning' on our behalf.

We are also a partner of the Greater Manchester Resilience Forum (GMRF). This partnership of agencies from across Greater Manchester has responsibility for coordinating and overseeing emergency planning.  It's overall purpose is to ensure an appropriate level of preparedness for an effective multi-agency response to emergency incidents which may have significant impact on the communities of Greater Manchester.

For more information, visit Greater Manchester Prepared website

GMRF works within the framework set by the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, which provides a single statutory framework for civil protection in the UK at a local level.
