Social services Equipment and adaptations to help you live independently

Equipment

There's lots of equipment you could use around your home to keep you safer and help with day-to-day tasks such as cooking, bathing or getting around - indoors and outside. Things like shower stools, raised toilet seats, commodes and special beds are examples. To find out more call 0161 234 5001. We'll talk you through what's available to help you decide what equipment would help. Then we'll arrange for it to be delivered or collected. Or we can see you at home for a thorough assessment of what you need.

This is a free service - we loan you the equipment for as long as you need it.

You could also get funding for

  • Minor adaptations, or
  • Major adaptations.

There could be lots of other things to help you keep doing what you do, your way, including alarms to let someone know if you need help. Just call us to discuss on 0161 234 5001 or email  mcsreply@manchester.gov.uk
