The best way to apply is online through the national website, the Planning Portal. You can complete the form, attach your documents and pay.

What happens next?
Your application comes back to us to decide if you can go ahead. We'll look at how it affects the local area, the environment and other people.
We will usually tell you our decision within eight weeks. The time limit for large or complex applications is 13 weeks.
Paper application forms
If you cannot submit online, you can download and print a paper form from the Planning Portal. You can then complete this and send it into us.
