Planning and regeneration Brownfield Land Register

The government requires each local planning authority in England to prepare, maintain and publish a register of previously developed (brownfield) land suitable for housing. Brownfield Land registers were introduced to provide up-to-date and consistent information on sites that local authorities consider to be appropriate for residential development. In line with the Town and Country Planning (Brownfield Land Register) Regulations, we have produced our own Brownfield Land Register. The information is based on the end of year (31 March 2023) figures and is a subset of Manchester's Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment 2023.
