Please put the right material in your recycling bins. We can't collect a bin if it has the wrong material in it. We'll put a tag on it telling you why.
Blue bin, container or bag
Things that can go in your blue bin include: Cardboard, food and drink cartons, magazines, comics, waste paper, newspapers, cardboard egg boxes, pizza boxes, juice boxes, travel tickets (for bus, tram, train), cards, flyers, leaflets, pamphlets and catalogues.
Brown bin or container
Things that can go in your brown bin include: Plastic bottles including shampoo bottles, bleach bottles, mouthwash bottles, drinks bottles, washing up liquid bottles, milk bottles, foil and foil trays, empty aerosols, food tins, drinks cans, glass bottles and glass jars.
Green bin, container or box
Things that can go in your green bin include: Meat and fish bones, twigs and branchesm cooked and raw meat, bread products, fruit and veg peelings, tea bags, plate scrapings, cut flowers, dairy products and egg shells, grass cuttings and hedge clippings.
Food waste should be put in compostible bags first. We can supply these.
Things that can't be recycled
Things that can't be recycled include: Nappies, coffee cups, polystyrene, bottle tops, plant pots, electrical items, plastic film and bubble wrap, yoghurt pots, plastic food trays, batteries, plastic bags, clothes and shoes, plastic toys, bin bags, soil and building rubble.
