Accessing data

Local level data health and well-being data can be access from the Intelligence Hub, where you can view and download the data on a map and a chart. 

The Compendia of Statistics pulls together a range of Health and well-being statistics in to a single document.

Reports

The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) is produced annually by the Council and Partners, to analyse the health needs of populations. It is used by to inform and guide commissioning of health, well-being and social care services within local authority areas. The JSNA as a whole looks at the health needs of the population across the two ‘life stages’ of children and young people (Starting Well and Developing Well), and adults and older people (Living Well, Working Well and Ageing Well). 

A number of health related summaries have also been produced relating to the the 2011 Census

External data and intelligence

The NHS Information Centre provides health and social care indicators.

The UK Health Security Agency (formerly Public Health England) provides a number of resources for accessing health data:

  • The Fingertips interactive tool provides access to a number of health indicators which support the Public Health Outcomes Framework. This sets out a vision for public health, desired outcomes and indicators to aid understanding of how well public health is being improved and protected. 
  • Data is also available from Fingertips on Wider Determinants of Health including education, crime and employment. 
  • The Local Health providing access to interactive maps and reports relating to health for local areas, and allows users to create ward level health reports.
