People and communities Funding and grants for voluntary and community sector

Our Manchester VCS Grants (OMVCS)

Charitable voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations play a huge role in improving lives and communities in the city. We focus our grants programme on working with them to achieve the aims of the Our Manchester strategy.
For 2018 to 2021, a total of £7.4m has been awarded to 63 VCS organisations, who have a strong track record of providing high quality services in the city.

OMVCS Year 1 Annual Report

We are now well into the new programme and a huge amount has already been achieved. In Year 1 over 124,000 residents were supported and over 6,000 residents volunteered their time. In the report you’ll find more of these highlights and case studies from VCS organisations on the programme showing the difference they’re making.

Population Health Targeted Funding – Older People's Neighbourhood (OPeNS) Fund and First 1000 Days Fund

We are administering two new grants on behalf of Manchester Health and Care Commissioning. Both funds are open to voluntary organisations that work with older people, and those that support children and families during the first 1,000 days of a child’s life (from pregnancy to the age of 2).

The fund is now closed to applications and we will be in touch with all applicants in the coming weeks.

Please email us if you require further information.

Support for VCS organisations

We also fund support for VCS organisations. This support includes organisation health checks, information and advice, training and professional development. These services are currently provided through Macc.
