The pandemic has caused great disruption to many of our lives, especially for children and young people.
We are proud of the resilience and achievements of the young people in Manchester in the face of covid-19 and want to celebrate this.
So as part of our covid recovery planning, we are dedicating 2022 as the ‘Year of the Child’; a year to celebrate and further support children and young people in Manchester. As part of this city-wide campaign, we will create a programme of activities, opportunities and experiences that will help children and young people build back stronger and reclaim their future....and create a legacy, for our city to be recognised by UNICEF as ‘child friendly.’
The first step is to talk to children and young people, so we know:
- what you want to achieve,
- what is great about growing up in Manchester and
- what could be better.
