Apprenticeships and traineeships

Apprenticeships

Hiring an apprentice is a productive and effective way to grow talent and develop a motivated, skilled and qualified workforce. Whether a start-up, large corporate or SME, many companies currently operate Apprenticeship programmes. They recognise the enormous impact that employing apprentices has on the business, both bottom line and culturally, as well as diversifying the skills and age of their workforce.

The Government Apprenticeship Service provides information about apprenticeships, funding and how to register to find apprentices and training providers. Visit the Government Apprenticeship Service

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) provides information for employers, and can advise you on recruitment, funding, the Apprenticeship Levy and makes introductions to the most appropriate training providers. Visit GMCA Apprenticeships

Traineeships

A traineeship is a skills development programme for young people that includes a work experience placement to help them prepare for employment or an apprenticeship. Employers can offer the work experience placement and apply for an incentive.
