Parking Vehicle clamping and releasing

Releasing vehicles

The charge to release a clamp from your vehicle is £40. You will also have to pay the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) which will be £25 or £35.

The total charges must be paid before your vehicle is released. The information you need to do this is included in the paperwork that's attached to your vehicle.

Releasing a vehicle from the pound

If we remove your vehicle you will need to pay a removal fee of £105, instead of the clamp fee, as well as the PCN to release your vehicle.

There will be an additional charge of £12 per day for each day your vehicle remains in the vehicle pound. This charge is calculated from midnight on the day after the removal.

If you do not claim your vehicle we will take actions to dispose of it.

Details of how to appeal will be provided when you make payment.

Abandoned Vehicles Release fee £120 + £15 per day storage.

DVLA clamped vehicles

The release fee is £100 if the vehicle is re-taxed. If you are unable to re-tax a refundable Surety Fee of £160 must also be paid with the £100 release fee.

If the vehicle is removed 24 hours after it's clamped the release fee increases to £200 with an additional £21 per day storage fee.

The Surety fee will allow you to drive the vehicle for 24 hours to move it off the highway and onto private land or a driveway.

Any untaxed vehicle not on a driveway or a SORN vehicle not on driveway or private land, can be enforced again after 24 hours.

You can make a payment by phone on 0161 234 4149, from 8am to 5pm everyday except Christmas.

Going to the vehicle pound

The vehicle pound is open from 10am to 7pm (by appointment only after 6pm, you need to call 0161 234 4144 to agree a time) every day of the year, except Christmas Day.  Impounded vehicles cannot be released when the pound is closed.
