Parking Apply for a disabled parking bay or H bar

Residential disabled parking bays are marked parking spaces on the road outside - or near to - the property of a disabled resident. The parking bay does not belong exclusively to the resident and may be used by any driver as long as they display their Blue Badge.

To qualify you must:

  • Be a Blue Badge holder
  • Be in receipt of Higher / Enhanced rate for independence / mobility within Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Disability Living Allowance (DLA), or Attendance Allowance if 65+ (must show name, address and details of rate received).
  • Have a vehicle registered at this address.

If you have a driveway then a disabled bay will not be approved, but we can place an H-Bar marking at the end of the drive if there is a dropped kerb. These are white lines that are marked on the road in front of an access area. The lines highlight to other road users that they shouldn't block access in that location. If you do not meet the qualifications listed, the cost of H bar markings is £216

Once you have submitted your application an officer will assess it and advise if the work can take place.
