Performance Management in Manchester

As a Council whilst we acknowledge the significant impact the budget reductions will have on our services, we remain committed to supporting the people of Manchester, protecting the most vulnerable and continuing to grow our economy and create jobs.

We have developed a performance management framework to track performance towards our agreed objectives in these and other areas. The framework allows detailed information about the state of the city to be reported to those people in the Council making decisions about where and how to spend public money. It aligns resources, people and finance across agencies to meet residents' needs.

The performance management framework aligns the objectives for Greater Manchester, for public services across Manchester in the Manchester Partnership, for the Council and for its individual managers and officers.

There are objectives for the whole of Greater Manchester described in the Greater Manchester Strategy.  The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) takes responsibility for putting the strategy into action.
