Work plan 2021/22    

  • Receive and deploy the remaining electric refuse collection vehicles (eRCVs) which are estimated to deliver savings of 900 tonnes of CO2 per year. (Action 2.1)
  • Continue the replacement of our operational fleet with electric vehicles to provide estimated annual savings of 400 tonnes of CO2. (Action 2.2)
  • Develop and adopt a sustainable travel policy for officers and members to deliver estimated 100 tonnes of CO2 savings per year. (Action 2.3)
  • Continue to improve the network of walking and cycling infrastructure across the city with an initial investment of over £25m, and ongoing work to secure further funding, allowing completion of key routes and consultation on further schemes. (Action 2.4)
  • Continue to collaborate with Transport for Greater Manchester and Salford City Council to implement actions and projects in the City Centre Transport Strategy, including working to secure long-term funding through the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement. (Action 2.6)
  • Develop and implement incentives and support to encourage sustainable commuting for Council staff. (Action 2.8)
