The Children's Library at Central Library

The children’s library has recently been refurbished and was re-opened in December 2021.  Our aim was to make a cosy yet exciting space for children to explore, and also to provide plenty of places where parents and carers can curl up and share a book with their children.

Our fantastic new children’s library has a jungle theme and provides flexible spaces for storytimes and class visits to take place, as well as child-sized seating for children to make the library their very own.

With a wide range of stock from board books for babies, picture books and older fiction to dual language stories, and non-fiction, there really is something for everyone.

So come and let your imagination run wild in the heart of the city.

We have baby changing facilities, a nursing room and a café in the library.
