Managing the works

Meet The Contractor Open Event

Since John Sisk and Son Ltd have taken over the completion of the MSIRR project, they're giving members of the public a chance to drop in, find out what their plans are for the final stages of the project, and discuss any concerns. Everyone is welcome: Tuesday 28 May, 4pm to 7pm at the Campanile Hotel, Regent Road, Manchester M5 4RS

Work started on 29 August 2018 and is expected to last for 12 months.

Traffic flow

Regent Road will be reduced from two lanes to one lane in each direction during the works. Longer journey times are expected on Regent Road and nearby routes including the M602 and Mancunian Way.

We are working with our partners to make sure the disruption along Regent Road is reduced as much as possible. Please plan your journeys in advance and allow extra time. Consider using public transport if it’s an option.

Working safely on the road

We have worked out the safest way to carry out this job. This means that parts of the road will need to be closed to give our staff the space they need to do the work, which will include heavy machinery being brought onto the junctions.

Traffic management has been installed along the road allowing us to manage traffic in the most effective way so that work can be carried out safely.

Visit TfGM’s website for more information, including an alternative route map, recommended cycling routes, and park and ride sites.
