Apprentices on the Our Town Hall Project will take up paid apprenticeships in a number of trades, and across the national apprenticeship levels.
Apprenticeships are offered by a variety of contractors, at Levels 2 and 3, Level 4 and up to Level 6 (a degree apprenticeship). All our apprentices earn the minimum of £8.91 per hour – rising to £9.50 per hour in April 2022.
Our scaffolders Lyndons are a good example of an employer offering apprenticeships on this project, having taken on 16 year old Lucas and 28 year old Tayla specifically for this work package. Find out more on the GM Apprenticeship Hub or register your interest by emailing email@example.com
PlanBEE apprenticeships - from September 2022
In 2021 PlanBEE Manchester was launched by Manchester City Council and Manchester Life, with Ryder Architecture and in collaboration with employers from across the city. The scheme provides Manchester residents with the opportunity to begin a career in construction while working across a variety of projects in the city. In 2022 we will be recruiting for our next cohort of PlanBEE apprentices, who will work on a number of projects in the city including the Our Town Hall Project to restore, repair, and partially refurbish Manchester Town Hall, as well as Manchester Life’s developments in Ancoats.
A two-year multi-disciplinary programme, PlanBEE Manchester will help meet the need for skilled employees in the North West construction sector and equip young people to thrive in the industry, which is rapidly evolving with new construction methods and technologies.
Who can apply?
Anyone over 18 and living in a Manchester City Council postcode that wants to establish their career in the construction sector is invited to apply.
