Work experience, training and education

The Our Town Hall project will support Manchester residents, and offer chances for people to develop their skills, get qualifications and move into - or further into - employment. We’re already trialling some schemes.

There will be several ways that residents can get involved:

  • a visit by project staff to your school or organisation to talk about their work (this could focus on careers advice, employment and STEM options)
  • work experience placements for students aged 14 to 16, or 17+
  • apprenticeships (from trade-based work, such as joinery or stone masonry, to professional roles, such as architecture or project management)

We're also supporting students from the Manchester School of Architecture with themed site visits, mentoring and research project through the duration of the project.

If you’re part of an organisation that works with people in education, employment or training and want to discuss how we could support your work, email ourtownhall@manchester.gov.uk
