Markets in Manchester will be closed from Saturday 21 March  and remain closed until further notice

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has meant the safety of traders and customers accessing markets cannot be guaranteed. Ensuring the health of Manchester’s residents is the Council’s top priority which has meant this policy has been implemented.

The markets affected are: Longsight Market, Gorton Market and Wythenshawe Market.

It should be noted that this restriction will not apply to New Smithfield Market.

New Smithfield Market is a wholesale market and is a vital link in the supply chain between manufacturers and food retailers not just in Manchester, but across the North West.

The Sunday Car Boot Sale will be suspended until further notice, effective from Sunday 22 March.
