COVID-19 Local Restrictions Support Grants

Discretionary Scheme from 4 August to 4 November

We are considering backdated applications for this scheme in the first instance from the hospitality sector, hotels, B&Bs and leisure services, as directed by the Government. We will consider these businesses first using details from their application for the closed and national scheme. Businesses only need to claim once, but they will receive two separate payments.

As the funding that we receive from the Government is based on the number of these types of businesses in the city, we will deal with grant payments to these businesses first.

If there is any funding left after this allocation, we will open the scheme up more widely and invite applications from other businesses that may have been affected by the Greater Manchester restrictions, equivalent to COVID Alert Level: High (Tier 2). Given the level of funding provided by the Government, we do not expect there to be any funding left over after the initial allocation.

Businesses occupying hereditaments with a rateable value on the date of the commencement of the local restrictions:

  • of exactly £15,000 or under may receive a grant of up to £934 per 28-day period.
  • over £15,000 and less than £51,000 may receive a grant of up to £1,400 per 28-day period.
  • of exactly £51,000 or above may receive a grant of up to £2,100 per 28-day period.
