COVID-19 COVID-19 Testing

Order home test kits online

If you cannot get tested at your workplace or you are not able to get to a test site or collect test kits, you can order a home test kit online.   Please do not order online if you can get a test another way.  This will help free up home delivery for those who need it most.

Test results - what do I do?

If testing at home, you will need to register your results online or by calling 119 on the same day you take the test. Negative results also need to be registered.  The result will also feed into the NHS Test and Trace system.

A negative test result means the test did not find signs of coronavirus. But this does not guarantee you do not have coronavirus, so please keep following all coronavirus advice including regular handwashing and social distancing.

If your test result is positive you must take a PCR test to confirm the result and self-isolate immediately.  If you develop coronavirus symptoms after receiving your test result you must also take a PCR test and self-isolate immediately.

A PCR test is when the sample is sent off to the laboratory for the results to be analysed, which takes a couple of days.  You can take a PCR test either through at home PCR testing or at a local PCR testing site.

Where people have been told to self-isolate by the NHS Test and Trace and their income has been affected, they could be eligible for a one-off support payment:
