Trading on the Food market

If you want to trade on the food market, you'll need to apply for a licence.

Licence agreements cover a 12 month period from April to March, and you pay for them in advance. You can do this in either annual or quarterly instalments.  

The fee depends on the type of stall but all prices include VAT:

• General food stall -  £5400 per year
• Donuts or similar - £1800 per year
• Ice cream van - £1800 per year
• Specialist operator -  we'll agree a price with you

You don't need to pay any daily fees if you have a licence, but you pay whether you stand or not.

How to apply

You must submit an expression of interest to us before you can make an application. If we think your products are suitable, we wil contact you and ask you to make a formal application. We may also ask you to attend an interview with us before this.
