Schools, education and childcare Primary schools: Council's admission rules

Category 3: Brother or sister at the school

If your child already has a brother or sister at a school, the younger child goes into category 3 for that school.

The brothers or sisters must live at the same address as their permanent, main home.

It includes adopted brothers and sisters, foster children, half-brothers and sisters, and step-brothers and sisters.

But brothers or sisters must still be at the school when the younger child starts school.

And sixth forms or nursery classes don't count. If the brother or sister is in a sixth form or nursery class at the school, the child can’t go into category 3.
