Diseased Ash trees

In February 2012, a consignment of infected trees arrived from the Netherlands to a nursery in Buckinghamshire. Since then diseased trees have been found in a number of locations across the country.

Chalara dieback of ash is a serious disease of ash trees caused by a fungus. The disease causes leaf loss and crown dieback in affected trees and usually leads the tree dying.

What you can do

Check with the Forestry Commision for up to date information and guidance, including images showing what to look for.

If you think you have a diseased ash tree after checking the Forestry Commission information, then let us know, include a photo of the diseased tree and we will investigate.
