In addition to the photography competition there will be three prizes up for grabs from the Manchester Day hat-making Creation Station located in St Ann’s Square from midday until 5pm. Here you can bag yourself tickets to Snow White at the Opera House, snare a track taster session at Manchester Velodrome or win a family package of swimming fun at Manchester Aquatics Centre.
Cllr Pat Karney, Chair of Manchester Day, said: “With non-stop action and entertainment crammed into Manchester Day you’ll find plenty of colour and excitement to capture on camera.
“There’s a host of places for you to take the perfect picture, with the parade starting from Princess St, and taking in Portland St and Peter St before travelling along Deansgate to finish near the Cathedral. And that’s before you’ve been amazed by music, dance, performance, food and drink in St Ann’s Square, Cathedral Gardens and Exchange Square.
“We want to see the celebration from your point of view so submit your best shots for the chance to win a fantastic prize.”
Manchester Day will take place on Sunday, 23 June from midday until 6pm.
