January 2020 will see a new way for the residents of Manchester to learn about the decisions which are shaping the city.
This month will see the first episode of the Leader’s Vlog, a monthly look into the policies, changes and developments which are important to Manchester.
Sir Richard Leese, Leader of Manchester City Council, used his first vlog to visit Ancoats and New Islington to see how a once derelict and polluted area has been brought back to life, now home to the next generation of Manchester’s social housing.
Over the past decade the land at Cotton Field Park has been steadily reclaimed. Where there was once a broken down estate, a new community has grown into an area which is now one of the most desired neighbourhoods to live in.
Sir Richard Leese said: “As we spend more and more of our time on our phones and tablets, transforming my blog into a vlog is a step in the right direction of ensuring everyone in Manchester is connected to the work we are doing as a Council.
“These are exciting times for Manchester as we look to grow as an international city, whilst at the same time continue to ensure our residents are able to thrive and succeed no matter what walk of life they come from. I hope this new format will give you a better look at how the Council is rising to meet that challenge in the years to come.
