A Council by-election will be held in Manchester's Ancoats and Beswick ward on Thursday 3 February 2022.

It is to fill a vacancy which has arisen after the resignation of one of the ward’s three elected members, Marcia Hutchinson.

A full list of candidates will be published at 4pm on 10 January 2022 at www.manchester.gov.uk/elections Poll cards with polling station details will be sent to everyone registered to vote in the Ancoats and Beswick ward area. 

Polling hours will be from 7am to 10pm. People living in the ward are reminded that they need to be registered to vote in order to vote in this election. If you are not already registered, the deadline for applications to register to be received is 18 January 2022. 

To register, go to www.gov.uk/registertovote. Registering is quick and easy - you'll need your national insurance number and date of birth. Anyone who is registered to vote in the ward can request a postal vote. 

Completed applications must be received no later than 5pm on 19 January and will require a signature and your date of birth for security purposes. If you are already registered as a postal voter, you do not need to reapply for this election.
