If funding is withdrawn from certain libraries, Manchester Libraries would look to put in place a small outreach library or community book collection, if at all possible. These services would be offered in an alternative local community building, delivered by a partner or community organisation.
On the basis of our experiences in other parts of the city, we fully expect to be able to develop the community option but, though very unlikely, if we could not it would lead to the withdrawal of the service.
